November 2024
Upon arriving in the Dominican Republic, on Sunday we attended worship at a Korean church. That day, a missionary serving in the Brazilian jungle gave the sermon. During his message, he shared how he had suffered a severe neck injury in Brazil, which left him with poor vision, partial hearing loss, and severe headaches, causing him long-lasting pain.
As I listened, I thought in my heart, “If only I could offer him acupuncture and moxibustion treatment, I believe he could find relief.”
After the sermon, I shared my personal testimony:
God, in His mercy, has used a sinner like me as His instrument to bring the gospel and perform many miracles. For example, during a medical mission in the mountains of Toluca, Mexico, a 5-year-old girl who had been unable to walk since birth was brought to me. Through acupuncture treatment, within just 10 minutes, she stood up and walked hand in hand with me into the village marketplace. The entire town witnessed this incredible moment, bursting into applause and shouting, “¡Dios le bendiga!” (God bless you). Because of this miracle, her family of six received Jesus Christ, and many villagers also came to faith after seeing God’s power at work.
After hearing my testimony, the missionary from Brazil came to me deeply moved. He asked if I could treat him. With permission from our team leader, we used the pastor’s office in the church as a small treatment room.
His condition was severe: his neck was stiff like dry wood from stress, he suffered from intense headaches, nausea, and hearing loss. Normally, I don’t carry my medical tools to Sunday service, but that morning God had strongly placed on my heart to bring my acupuncture needles. I realized it was God’s provision, that he had prepared me to treat this missionary.
After just one treatment, he reported feeling 80% better. The next day, before leaving for his mission field in Brazil, he came to our lodging and requested another session. After his second treatment, he testified with joy that he was almost completely healed.
Other Testimonies from the Field
- In a small clinic inside a landfill community, patients had been waiting since early morning to receive care. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., we treated about 60–70 people. Among them, there was an elderly woman with a severely bent back who could not walk properly and was in excruciating pain, crying in agony. While receiving acupuncture and praying for intercession, the patient wept and said “Amen, amen.” Twenty minutes later, she stood up and walked away, stretching her back.
- The next day, I climbed the mountaintop, where about 300 people were living in huts hidden in the mountains. The oldest among them was an elderly woman. She came with a cane, and complained of severe leg swelling and pain. She said that after one treatment that day, the swelling completely went down and the pain disappeared.
- We also met a Korean missionary family, serving for three generations in the Dominican Republic. The wife had fallen and severely injured her head and shoulder, suffering dizziness, nausea, and chronic pain. After encouragement from the Brazilian missionary, she came to see us. Following treatment, she left saying she was more than 90% healed, giving thanks to the Lord.
Healing from Constipation
Brother Cho had been suffering from painful constipation for three days after arriving in the Dominican Republic. He asked if acupuncture could help. After receiving treatment in four points, he quickly felt relief and rushed to the restroom, saying it felt like a cannon firing, which brought laughter among the team.

COVID-19 Among Team Members
Several teammates developed cold symptoms including cough, fever, and body aches. After acupuncture and moxibustion treatments, they recovered well. Later, we learned three of them tested positive for COVID-19. Even though I eventually contracted it myself, God used that time as a blessing, allowing me deeper fellowship with Him.
Life is uncertain. We cannot see even one step ahead. For much of my life, I chased after worldly idols: resentment, fear of the future, despair, ambition, success, and possessions. Yet all of these left my spirit empty and powerless.
Now I thank God simply for being alive today, for every breath I take. During this DTS, God spoke clearly to my heart. He called me to be an instrument to preach the gospel and bring life to others. Through daily meditation on His Word, my soul and body are being restored. Through prayer and praise, I can live a transformed, joyful life.
Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on the cross for my sins and rose again, is my Savior, Father, and King. Though the world may abandon me, my Lord never will. He embraces me with unchanging love.
Through the teachings of each instructor and the service of every leader, I learned the love of Jesus more deeply. I was humbled and inspired by their dedication. To me, they were like angels, reflecting Christ Himself.
Throughout our mission, God bound our team together in unity to serve both the body and the soul of those in need. There were no mistakes—only the Spirit’s leading. Each member served faithfully in their roles: acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, blood pressure checks, patient guidance, photography, and intercessory prayer.
God poured out His Spirit, equipping us perfectly as His instruments. We planted seeds of healing and faith, confident that God will bring forth abundant fruit in this land.
